E-Invoicing Timeline
The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has officially released updated implementation guidelines for the mandatory e-invoicing initiative, marking a significant milestone in Malaysias digital transformation journey. This comprehensive guide outlines the key requirements, timelines, and technical specifications that businesses must adhere to.

Key Implementation Phases
The rollout follows a phased approach based on annual turnover thresholds, ensuring businesses of all sizes have adequate time to prepare and transition their systems.
- Phase 1 (August 2024): Businesses with annual turnover exceeding RM100 million
- Phase 2 (January 2025): Businesses with annual turnover or revenue exceeding RM25 million up to RM100 million
- Phase 3 (July 2025): Businesses with annual turnover or revenue exceeding RM5 million up to RM25 million
- Phase 4 (January 2026): Businesses with annual turnover or revenue exceeding RM1 million up to RM5 million
- Businesses with annual turnover or revenue of RM1 million or more in YA2023, YA2024, or YA2025 are required to implement e-Invoice starting from 1 July 2026.
*Exempted for businesses with annual turnover or revenue below RM1 million
